German Hefeweizen (Wheat Beer)
Ingredients:
- 6 lbs wheat malt
- 4 lbs Pilsner malt
- 1 oz Hallertauer hops (60 min)
- German Hefeweizen yeast
Instructions:
- Mash the grains in 5 gallons of water at 152°F for 60 minutes.
- Sparge with water at 170°F and collect the wort in a kettle.
- Bring the wort to a boil and add the Hallertauer hops.
- Chill the wort to 68°F and pitch the yeast.
- Ferment at 68°F for 7-10 days.
- Bottle or keg the beer after two weeks.
